Psychologically flexible actor training—online, in person, and in partnership
The Working Action Group offers a range of training opportunities for actors, educators, and institutions—grounded in contemporary psychology and designed to support emotional agility, creative depth, and sustainable practice.
Whether you’re looking to expand your own toolkit or bring new approaches to your students, our training invites exploration, reflection, and growth.
Our first on-demand course—ACT for Acting: How to open up, be present and do what matters in your life and work as an actor—is coming soon. This self-paced, accessible course introduces actors to the core processes of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and how they support presence, resilience, and creativity.
Keep an eye out for future live and on-demand courses, seminars, and digital workshops exploring ACT, character psychology, and more.
We offer flexible in-person workshops for actors and educators.
Coming soon: Playing the Parts – an experiential workshop exploring parts-based acting, psychological insight, and embodied flexibility using tools from ACT, IFS, and character formulation. Perfect for groups, companies, and institutions.
One-day and multi-day formats are currently in development.
We collaborate with drama schools, universities, and theatre companies to support:
Psychologically informed curriculum design
Module delivery (e.g., Inside the Role)
Guest teaching or rehearsal residencies
Partnerships can involve course integration, bespoke workshops, or long-term development.
We offer training for educators and creative practitioners who want to embed psychologically flexible principles in their work.
ACT for Actor Training is available as a half-day or full-day CPD session—introducing ACT principles, psychological flexibility, and tools for supporting students.
